We’re currently recruiting full-time and part-time Learning Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team supporting service users across Basildon and the surrounding areas.
Work Locations
Work close to home in some of our most vibrant and welcoming communities:
- Basildon
- Pitsea (SS13)
- Basildon Central (SS14)
- Laindon (SS15)
And the surrounding neighborhoods.
Wherever you’re based, there’s an individual near you waiting for your support and encouragement! 💙
Pay & Benefits
- Pay Rates: £12.71 / £13.01 / £13.21 per hour
- Mileage allowance: Paid mileage between visits
Shift Patterns
Our services run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle. Shift patterns can vary based on the individuals you are supporting, but typically include:
- Day Shifts
- Evening Shifts
- Sleep-in/Waking nights

Job Description
💙 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Learning Disability Support Worker, you’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred support that prioritises independence, dignity, and fun!
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Empowering Independence (helping individuals develop essential life skills, from cooking and budgeting to household tasks)
- Community Access (supporting individuals to get out and about to college, shopping, hobbies, and social activities)
- Personal care (providing dignified support with bathing, dressing, and grooming as required)
- Medication support (collecting prescriptions, providing reminders, and administration)
- Emotional support (being a consistent, encouraging presence to help build confidence and self-esteem)
You’ll Also:
- Encourage social engagement and family connections
- Monitor wellbeing and report any changes to healthcare professionals and family
- Maintain accurate documentation of support provided
- Respond to emergencies safely and effectively
- Work collaboratively with families and the wider care team
Qualifications
🦸 What You’ll Need (Besides a Cape!)
Hold onto your hats, because you don't need any social care experience to join our merry band of care crusaders! 💪
We offer full, paid training — all you need is a positive attitude, reliability, and the drive to champion independence.
- Driving Requirement: Access to a vehicle and a full driving licence is strictly required due to the community-based nature of this role covering SS13, SS14, and SS15.
- Genuine compassion and respect for others (kindness goes a long way!)
- A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude (as resilient as a rubber band and eager to learn)
- Strong communication and listening skills (that would make a UN diplomat jealous)
- Problem-solving abilities
- Reliability and a caring, supportive nature
- The right to work in the UK (sorry, time travellers from the future need not apply)
