Are you highly motivated with a passion for developing and delivering learning and connecting local people, both young and old, to collections and heritage stories? We are looking for a lively person with experience of museum learning and engagement to pilot new engagement around our Chair Discovery Centre and support delivery of our learning programmes.

Part-time, 15 hours per week, days to be agreed

6-month fixed term contract

Salary: £10,600 p.a. (FTE £26,500)

Responsibilities:

  • Exploring how we connect with different audiences at our Chair Discovery Centre, developing resources for groups and our handling collection at our new site.
  • Working closely with the Project Curator exploring how to develop the visitor experience at the Chair Discovery Centre to maximise engagement with the collection.
  • Managing the museum’s formal education programme.
  • Developing and delivering informal learning sessions with learning volunteers.
  • Working with our newly redeveloped handling and loans boxes.
  • Working with the museum director to have oversight of learning and community projects.
  • Evaluating the learning programme as part of the museum’s commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Providing ongoing support and training to learning volunteers.
  • Supporting marketing of learning and engagement events.
  • Supporting the duty manager during opening hour.
