Role Summary

Wetherby Preparatory School is an independent boys’ preparatory school (ages 7 – 13) of 350 boys set in the dynamic area of Marylebone in London. The SEND Teacher will provide high-quality, targeted teaching and support for pupils aged 5–13 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The postholder will work closely with the Head of Learning Enrichment, class and subject teachers, parents and external professionals to identify pupils' individual needs, remove barriers to learning and ensure that pupils make appropriate academic and personal progress.

The SEND Teacher will deliver individual and small-group interventions, contribute to Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), advise teachers on appropriate provision and support the effective identification, assessment and monitoring of pupils with SEND.

This is a part-time role, 2 days per week with evening/weekend work as needed, which might include attending school trips and residentials, parents’ evenings, open mornings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Learning Enrichment with maintaining the school's SEND register and other departmental records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupil needs, provision, interventions and progress.
  • Ensure that relevant information from assessments, reports and meetings is recorded appropriately and communicated to staff.
  • Monitor CATS, baseline assessments, school assessments, examination results and other relevant data to identify pupils who may require additional support.
  • Administer appropriate screening and diagnostic assessments, such as YARC, HAST and dyslexia screeners, where required.
  • Interpret assessment information to identify pupils' strengths, areas of difficulty and barriers to learning.
  • Use ILP targets to plan and deliver targeted intervention.
  • Monitor pupils' progress against their targets and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents.
  • Ensure that ILPs reflect current pupil needs and are communicated effectively to staff working with the pupil.
  • Ensure parents are aware of, have copies of and contributed to ILPS.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
