Job Title: Learning Mentor

Location: Bramfield House School, Suffolk, IP19 9AB

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: September 2026

About The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you'll play a vital role in transforming the lives of young people, providing the encouragement, guidance and personalised support they need to flourish both in the classroom and beyond. Every day, you'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build resilience, develop independence and celebrate achievements that boost their confidence and unlock their potential.

Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you'll create positive, trusting relationships that enable pupils to feel safe, valued and ready to succeed. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference, enjoys working collaboratively, and wants to help every young person believe in themselves and achieve more than they ever thought possible.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support autistic pupils with complex SEND to access learning and build confidence
  • Act as a positive role model, developing trusting and supportive relationships
  • Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom and practical activities
  • Deliver personalised, hands-on support tailored to individual learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to embed a therapeutic, pupil-centred approach
  • Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Encourage engagement in learning while promoting wellbeing and personal development
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

  • Resilience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach
  • A strong commitment to high professional standards and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of supporting pupils with communication, behaviour, and learning difficulties
  • Organised with attention to detail in record-keeping, planning, and follow-up
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development
  • Full UK driving licence

About Us

Bramfield House School is an independent special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk. The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education possible.
