Are you passionate about supporting children to achieve their best and looking to start a rewarding career in education? Chowbent Primary School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our dedicated team.

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting pupils' wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in learning. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and within small groups to meet their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Assisting with the delivery of the school's pastoral care and pupil support programmes.
  • Helping to develop and implement mentoring, behaviour and intervention plans.
  • Identifying pupils who may benefit from additional support and referring concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records against agreed targets and support plans.
  • Providing feedback and reports to teachers and other members of staff as required.
  • Building positive relationships with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals to support pupil development.
  • Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring all concerns are reported appropriately.
  • Assisting with the coordination and delivery of intervention programmes for vulnerable pupils.
  • Supporting pupils who require additional supervision or are following alternative timetables.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential pastoral and safeguarding records.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, good attendance and active participation in learning.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where all pupils can thrive.
  • Attending staff meetings, training sessions and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
