Learning and Performance Partner

ROLE PURPOSE

The Learning and Performance Partner role supports the day-to-day operational delivery of the OD strategy by assisting OFL colleagues with their learning and development, as well as talent management requirements, enabling the business to meet its people objectives related to performance and culture.

They support the identification of learning and performance needs across each business function by adopting an agile, curious, and inquisitive approach. They are responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating a full range of learning and development interventions to meet these needs.

Providing advice and support to managers and individuals regarding learning and performance, they improve sustained measurable results that are aligned to OFL business objectives and values by developing colleagues and assisting them in having the proper knowledge, skills, and behaviours to successfully perform their current role and, where applicable, prepare them for their next role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Champion Oak Furnitureland's culture, values, and behaviours, ensuring they are reflected in and threaded throughout all development interventions.
  • Provide learning and development expertise for the analysis, design, and implementation of OD projects and workstreams that contribute to the delivery of corporate initiatives and business projects.
  • Design and deliver a wide range of learning content, including face-to-face development, eLearning, virtual training, learning programmes, and Train the Trainer sessions that support the delivery of the HR strategy.
  • With others (incl. HRBPs), provide advice, guidance and support to managers and their teams on the identification of local development needs, support in the design of personal development plans where appropriate and feed into wider organisational requirements.
  • Provide support to managers on how to manage learning and career conversations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to manage the quality assurance of proposed materials and SME training capability, enabling the delivery of high-quality and relevant learning interventions.
  • Deliver OD projects that involve scoping out learning objectives, designing learner plans/pathways (including blended learning), and implementing/maintaining effective content.
  • Collaboratively work with others to scope out learning objectives aligned to business objectives, design bespoke learner content, including blended learning solutions and development pathways and deliver/maintain content as required.
  • Support onboarding of new starters through the delivery of corporate, local, and role-specific inductions, including maintenance of programme content and delivery methods.
  • Keep up to date with new learning trends, research and advise others on best practices, and contribute creative ideas and suggestions to the wider OD Team.
  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate the business impact of learning interventions by monitoring and capturing evidence/feedback that demonstrates achievement of objectives, measuring return on investment/expectation and making recommendations where necessary.

Skills And Experience

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering learning and development interventions (in person, virtually, and through eLearning) that drive behavioural and cultural change.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing and developing impactful blended learning solutions (digital, face-to-face) that improve performance and productivity.
  • Well-versed in adult learning methodologies and the learning cycle, has current awareness of the latest trends across both Learning and Development and within the field of performance management.
  • Proficient in utilising and administering Learning Management Systems, including reporting.
  • Experienced, credible business partner with a demonstrable track record of supporting key stakeholders in the analysis and identification of learning and development requirements and recommendation and delivery of appropriate learning interventions.
  • Capable of using coaching and mentoring techniques, developing others, and enabling them to meet the required performance levels for their role consistently.
  • Proven experience in working collaboratively as a team to achieve joint objectives.
  • Highly creative and innovative thinker with excellent communication skills and a visual eye. Strong attention to detail, able to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of methods and eLearning authoring tools (including Articulate, Storyline, video editing, Advanced PowerPoint skills, and Adobe).
  • Experience in working as a training designer for multiple business environments such as Retail, Logistics, Head Office, and Customer Service.
