A Role That Builds Experience as Well as Confidence

Want to develop a career in education while gaining practical experience supporting children who need a little more help to succeed?

A welcoming education setting in Halton is looking for a Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join its team ASAP.

You'll work directly with pupils who may need additional support with learning, communication, confidence, behaviour or emotional regulation. Alongside helping them make progress, you'll gain hands-on experience that can support your own development within education, SEND, pastoral care or teaching.

Where You'll Make a Difference

Every pupil learns differently. Your role will be to recognise where additional support is needed and help make learning feel more achievable.

You Could Be

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
  • Helping children understand and complete classroom activities.
  • Breaking learning into smaller, manageable steps.
  • Reinforcing literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs.
  • Helping children maintain focus and engagement.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Building confidence and independence.
  • Supporting individual learning targets.
  • Working closely with teachers and support professionals.

You may already have worked as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Behaviour Mentor, Support Worker or Youth Worker.

Relevant Experience Could Also Come From

You'll need to be patient, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships and remain calm when a pupil is finding something difficult.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
