Year Group: Year 3
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Crofton Park, SE4 is seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with a Year 3 pupil, providing consistent 1:1 and classroom-based support to help them access learning, develop their independence and make positive progress.
The pupil has Autism and Developmental Language Delay, so the school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant with previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs. Experience working with Autism, communication difficulties or developmental language needs would be particularly beneficial.
The Role: Learning Support Assistant
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support within a Year 3 classroom
- Supporting a child with Autism and Developmental Language Delay
- Helping the pupil access the curriculum and engage positively with learning
- Supporting communication, social development and independence
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement appropriate strategies
- Providing a calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour and learning
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Supporting the wider classroom when required

The Ideal Learning Support Assistant
The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has previous experience working with children with SEN and is confident supporting pupils with additional needs.

- Consistent and confident in their approach
