A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Specialist Support Assistant to join their team from April 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs in a caring, well-structured environment.

The Role

  • Full-time, long-term position within a supportive primary setting
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
  • Supporting children both in the classroom and through targeted interventions
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to implement individual support strategies
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and emotional regulation, alongside academic progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEN strategies
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic, particularly when supporting pupils with additional emotional or behavioural needs
  • Confident communicator, able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Proactive, reliable, and genuinely committed to improving outcomes for children
