A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within the classroom.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant within a primary school
  • Have experience supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND
  • Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within the classroom
  • Have a patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting children's learning and development
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Be proactive, reliable, and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment

The Role Will Involve

  • Supporting pupils with their learning across the primary curriculum
  • Delivering targeted interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Assisting pupils with additional learning, communication, and social needs
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation in lessons
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils

Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Islington

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Long-Term (with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate)

Salary: GBP 95-GBP 110 per day (dependent on experience)
