Location: Andover, Hampshire
Pay: £100-£125 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time | Long-term | Temp-to-Perm

Learning Support Assistant - SEN | Andover
Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Andover, Hampshire area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and the wider school team, providing tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, You Will
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
- Help pupils engage with lessons and access the curriculum
- Work closely with teachers to support learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
- Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote independence, confidence and resilience
- Help maintain a structured, safe and positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with teachers and other members of the support team

Experience of PRICE, TeamTeach or other positive behaviour support approaches would be advantageous.
About You
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is:
- Experienced working with children or young people
- Confident supporting pupils with additional or behavioural needs
- Patient, calm and emotionally resilient
- Positive and encouraging
- Able to establish strong professional relationships
- Flexible and adaptable to individual pupil needs
- Proactive and willing to support across the wider school environment
- Experienced within education, SEN, youth work, care or a similar setting
An Enhanced DBS will be required before starting. Candidates registered with the DBS Update Service are welcome to apply.
