Learning Support Assistant : Year 3
Location: Wandsworth Town, SW London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Short-Term Cover

A welcoming primary school in Wandsworth Town is seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to join the Year 3 team on a full-time, short-term basis, starting ASAP.
The Learning Support Assistant will provide dedicated support to a Year 3 pupil who has ADHD and will play an important role in helping the child remain engaged, focused, and confident throughout the school day.
The child is Portuguese-speaking, so the ability to communicate in Portuguese would be highly desirable. The successful Learning Support Assistant will ideally have previous experience supporting children with ADHD, SEND or additional learning needs, although candidates with strong transferable experience will also be considered.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and targeted support to a Year 3 pupil throughout the school day.
- Support the child with focus, attention, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
- Help the pupil access the Year 3 curriculum and participate positively in classroom activities.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team.
- Use appropriate strategies to support the pupils' individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
- Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEND, or additional needs is desirable.
- Portuguese-speaking candidates are particularly encouraged.
- Patient, calm, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to build positive relationships with children.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a school team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant looking for an immediate, full-time position within a supportive primary school environment in Wandsworth Town.
