About This Role

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

At Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, we are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated SEND team. Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting students to access learning, develop independence and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

You will support students with a range of additional needs, delivering high-quality interventions, monitoring progress and helping to remove barriers to learning. Through your encouragement, patience and expertise, you will contribute to an inclusive environment and be committed to improving outcomes for young people. Alongside this, you will provide practical, emotional and pastoral support to ensure all students can access an ambitious curriculum and fully participate in academy life.

The successful candidate will possess strong literacy, numeracy, communication and IT skills, have the confidence to maintain accurate records and monitor student progress, and be able to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. Resilient, adaptable and committed to inclusion, you will share our belief that every child can succeed when given the right support, encouragement and opportunities.

A qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND or a related field would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience and a commitment to developing their skills further.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
