We are seeking a dedicated, versatile, and proactive individual to join our supportive school community. This Level 3 role combines targeted classroom support, whole-class cover for PPA and leadership time, and essential lunchtime supervision, making you a vital part of our pupils' entire school day.
Working Hours
This position covers two key areas of school life:
Learning Support Assistant (Level 3): 28.75 hours per week (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
Midday Supervisor: 2.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our staff team, you will:
- Class Cover: Lead and deliver pre-planned lessons to cover whole classes during PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time and leadership release time across the school.
- Support Learning: Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging curriculum content, adapt learning tasks, and facilitate targeted intervention groups or one-to-one support.
- Classroom & Behaviour Management: Maintain high standards of pupil behaviour and engagement independently when covering classes and supporting in group settings.
- Lunchtime Care: Provide supervision during playtimes and lunchtimes to ensure a safe, active, and positive environment.
- Promote Pastoral Wellbeing: Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, acting as a reliable role model and offering guidance and care.
- School Standards: Consistently implement the school’s behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding policies.

What We Are Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning (e.g., NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in leading whole classes or delivering planned lessons independently to cover teacher non-contact time.
- Confidence in managing classroom behaviour, maintaining routines, and supporting pupils across English, maths, and the broader curriculum.
- Exceptional communication skills, flexibility, and a resilient, collaborative approach.
