Hanley Castle High School
We are seeking to appoint a patient, calm, and empathetic individual to join us in providing one-to-one personal care and support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This role involves meeting the pupil’s physical, emotional, and educational needs in a respectful and dignified way.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with physiotherapy, feeding, and communication
- Working closely with teaching staff and professionals to support the pupil’s full inclusion and participation in school life
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people and supporting pupils with EHCPs
- Willingness to develop new skills and undertake necessary training to support the student, including training on using a hoist and eye gaze technology
- Experience working with children who have complex physical and communication needs would be beneficial but is not essential
Working Hours
- 27.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm)
- Term-time only plus 8 training days
Salary
- The salary is in accordance with TA3 (SCP7-17)
- Pro-rated to £16,856 for 27.5 hours per week (TA3 SCP7)
- Unless for an exceptional candidate who meets all aspects of the person specification, the post will be offered at the bottom of the scale, TA3 SCP7
- A salary increment is given annually

Terms
- This post is fixed-term and linked to the support needs of a named pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
- The contract will be for the duration of the pupil’s placement at the school and will end when the pupil leaves or no longer requires this support
