Learning Support Assistant - Warwick
Luma Education Recruitment is working with a specialist education setting in Warwick, Warwickshire, that is looking to appoint a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant for September 2026.
This opportunity would suit someone with experience supporting children or young people who may have SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and make positive progress both academically and personally.
The Opportunity
As a Learning Support Assistant, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Working alongside teachers to support accessible and engaging learning
- Providing additional support to pupils who require help accessing the curriculum
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
- Supporting classroom routines and maintaining a safe, calm learning environment
- Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to understand and meet individual pupil needs
- Encouraging pupils to participate positively in learning and school life

What We're Looking For
We Are Keen To Hear From Candidates Who Have
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
- Previous experience in a school, SEN, care, youth work or similar environment
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
- Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- A patient, consistent and emotionally resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- The flexibility to adapt to different pupils and situations
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Relevant qualifications are welcomed, but experience, attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils are equally important.
An Enhanced DBS will be required before commencing the role. Candidates who are already registered with the DBS Update Service are encouraged to apply.
