About the Role
King Edward VI School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
Your Role
You will have an essential role in the school, encouraging students with Special Educational Needs to become more independent learners. You will help these students overcome their barriers to learning, so that they can achieve their potential. You will undertake specified work with individuals or groups as directed by the SENDCo and Assistant SENDCo’s.
You will also undertake a daily lunchtime supervisor duty. You will be responsible for a set area within the school, supervising our students and dealing with any issues as they arise. You will need to have clear and confident communication skills in supporting students to be safe and respectful during their lunchtime break.
Teamwork will be key and you will be expected to follow school policies at all times. Experience of working with children and young people is not essential, more a willingness to show an interest in them and their lunchtime activities will help create those positive relationships with our young people.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
