We are looking for Learning Support Facilitators to join us at Tameside College!
There are 3 positions available (36 hours over 38 weeks - 0.88 FTE)
Role Overview
As a Learning Support Facilitator, you will provide a range of support to learners with a variety of needs including difficulties/disabilities, Literacy, Numeracy and Language. You will also provide emotional support and encourage participation in the learning environment and may be required to support learners with personal care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners across a wide range of vocational subjects
- Work at more than one of the college’s centres
- Collaborate with classroom tutors to break down barriers
- Ensure that individual learner needs are met
- Contribute to raising awareness and understanding of the needs of individual learners in the wider college community
Requirements
- Previous experience in supporting young people
- Understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural)
- Ability to motivate students with differing needs and abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and a problem-solving approach to managing challenging situations
