The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Learning Mentor to join our Manchester City Centre team. Someone who can support, inspire and motivate students with diverse learning needs. This is an operational, on-site role for an individual with a passion for transforming the lives of young people with SEND.
Responsibilities
At Beltane College, Learning Mentors make a real difference to students’ lives - everyday. If you come from a practical or vocational background and enjoy helping people grow, this role gives you the chance to use your real-world experience to guide students towards confidence, independence, and meaningful next steps.

- You’ll support personalised, high-quality learning and progression, using effective mentoring strategies that help students feel capable and motivated.
- Your days will be varied and active — coordinating small group activities, supporting community learning, and helping students succeed on work placements where your vocational insight truly matters.
- Student voice and wellbeing sit at the heart of the role. You’ll build trusted, professional relationships, promote safe and engaging learning environments, and work collaboratively with teachers to keep every student’s journey on track.
- Accurate, timely record keeping and strong communication ensure students get the support they need.
- Safeguarding, welfare, and risk-management procedures underpin everything you do, helping students feel secure enough to try, grow, and thrive.
