Role Description/Criteria
We are seeking full-time and part-time Learning Support Officers for multiple vacancies across the College, commencing Term 1, 2027.
This role is part of the Learning Diversity Team, working with teachers in the classroom to support students with their learning needs. De La Salle College is an integral part of the faith community of Malvern. De La Salle College is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS). MACS is the employer of employees at De La Salle College. Remuneration is based on experience in accordance with the Education Support Officer – Category B scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).
Job description:
- Working in partnership with subject teachers, to support student learning
- Attending to the care of the students, supporting their organisation skills, preparedness for class and access to the curriculum
- Working with students in the class setting, providing 1:1 instructional support
- Providing support for a student’s academic learning, behaviour program, physical care, or social progress throughout the entirety of a school day, including class and recess times
- Assisting with the identification of student needs, skills and problems as they arise, and the evaluation of their progress, keeping the Educational Support Teacher informed at all times
- Liaising with other Education Support personnel and teaching staff in order to maintain a comprehensive support program
- Undertaking various administrative duties.

Skills/Experience required:
- A strong commitment to Catholic education
- An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students and colleagues
- An eagerness to learn
- An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous
