Tividale Hall Primary (SIPS)

The Governors wish to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Learning Support Practitioner. Our vision is to make our school a centre of excellence and to create a learning culture that allows both staff and pupils to grow together to be the best that they can be. Following our last Ofsted (April 2025), we are in a strong position to continue to move towards our goal. This is a very exciting position for a teacher who is seeking excellent development opportunities alongside innovative, forward thinking colleagues.

Tividale Hall Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Main responsibilities:

  • The care and welfare of pupils
  • To have contact and form links with parents, pupils and staff
  • To liaise with the class teacher regularly
  • To lead a range of intervention groups

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a relevant Level 3 qualification
  • GCSE pass in English and Maths
  • Have proven ability to be able to converse positively and effectively, with a good standard of written and spoken English
  • Be able to adopt a flexible approach to the post
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of child development
  • Have previous experience of working with young children in an educational setting
  • Well motivated and bring new ideas to help enrich the lives of young children
  • Communicate with parents and stakeholders
  • An understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding
  • Experience of delivering Interventions
  • To work closely with team members to support the set-up of individual schedules and work systems.
  • To help the pupil work as independently as possible.
  • To help supervise students at designated lunch or break times as directed by the Deputy Headteacher/SENCO.
  • To help in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources including making adjustments in classroom layout when needed for the child.
  • To contribute to discussion of individual targets in the process of reviews.
