About This Role
This is an incredible opportunity for a Learning Support Professional to make a difference and join a great team of people within a supportive, values-led organisation.
As a Learning Support Professional at Ormiston Beachcroft Academy, you will play a vital role in helping pupils who may have found mainstream education challenging to re-engage with learning and grow in confidence. Working under the direction of teaching staff, you will support individuals and small groups in the classroom, deliver targeted interventions in areas such as literacy, speech and language, behaviour and PSHE, and help pupils manage their behaviour and build positive relationships. You will also contribute to IEPs, support pupils’ emotional and social well-being, and work closely with families and other professionals – including through home visits where required – to support each pupil’s development and reintegration.
We’d love to hear from you if you have experience of working with children in a learning environment and believe every child deserves a fresh start. You’ll have good literacy and numeracy skills (at least level 2 in English and Maths, or equivalent), confident IT skills, and a good understanding of how children learn and develop. Perhaps you’ve already supported pupils with additional needs – such as social, emotional and mental health needs, ASD or ADHD – or perhaps you’re simply passionate about doing so. You’ll be a warm, clear communicator and a supportive team player who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues alike, and you’ll share our commitment to inclusion and to keeping every child safe and supported. Full training, including first aid, will be provided.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
