This position is with Alpha Partners Leasing (APL), the holding company of its engine leasing business, Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance, and asset management business, Aether Asset Management.

Position Summary

This multifaceted, challenging, and interesting role will allow you to play a key part in managing contracts and mitigating commercial risk for asset owners and Rolls-Royce. Its diverse nature requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload, as well as to communicate effectively with customers worldwide. Accuracy and a meticulous eye for detail are essential.

The size and structure of the APL organization mean that you will work alongside and communicate with senior team members daily. The Aether team is largely based in Derby with the Commercial function based in London with RRPF.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for drafting specific lease contract documents needed to support engine deliveries in accordance with approved templates and accountable for the accuracy and completeness of such documents.
  • Responsible for dealing directly with engine owners, airline customers and suppliers and stakeholders within Rolls-Royce to support its short-term lease offering.
  • Responsible for releasing engines to airline customers at a commercial level, ensuring that the required conditions precedent, such as insurance certificates or legal opinions, satisfy internal and/or third-party guide standards and identifying any commercial risks or gaps.
  • Responsible for ensuring all post-closing contractual actions and administration such as filings and security creation/release are completed, including the creation of records on IT systems and filing of contracts.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer insurance certificate renewals are completed as needed.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of commercial templates, tools and guides as needed to support delivery and redelivery, subject to approvals by third party asset owners and/or the third part asset owner’s Legal Counsel.

Position qualifications:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to work contending priorities and prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing, and negotiations skills.
  • Ability to understand business problems and propose solutions with customer focus.
  • Experience of drafting, negotiating, and administering lease contracts, ideally in private practice.
  • Desirable: experience of drafting, negotiating, and administering asset (aircraft, engine, or rolling stock) leases.
  • Desirable: a degree or equivalent qualification in Law or a related subject.
