Job Summary

Canary Wharf Group (CWG) is behind one of London’s most exciting neighbourhoods, creating a place where people can live, work and play, surrounded by fantastic restaurants, shops, green spaces, waterside locations and great transport connections.

Vertus is Canary Wharf’s Build to Rent residential brand, home to over 2,000 residents across a growing collection of buildings. Our residents enjoy much more than an apartment, with beautifully designed social spaces, rooftop gardens, terraces and a packed programme of events, all supported by a team focused on creating an exceptional resident experience.

And we’re growing. With over 500 new Vertus homes coming at 40 Charter Street in early 2027, it’s an exciting time to join the team.

We’re looking for a confident, energetic and commercially driven Leasing Consultant to join Vertus.

You’ll be right at the heart of the Vertus experience, meeting prospective residents, showcasing our incredible apartments and helping people find their next home in Canary Wharf.

This is much more than conducting viewings. You’ll build relationships, create excitement, generate opportunities and turn enquiries into new residents. You’ll own your pipeline, work towards ambitious targets and have the freedom to bring your personality to every customer interaction.

If you thrive in a fast-paced sales environment, love working with people and get a buzz from achieving results, we want to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities

  • Make a brilliant first impression, bringing energy, personality and exceptional service to every customer interaction.
  • Turn enquiries into opportunities, responding quickly to new leads and proactively keeping prospective residents engaged.
  • Get to know your customers, understanding what matters to them and matching them with the perfect Vertus home.
  • Bring Vertus to life, delivering engaging apartment tours that showcase our homes, amenities and the Canary Wharf lifestyle.
  • Own your sales pipeline, from first conversation and viewing through to offer and application.
  • Close the deal, confidently handling questions, overcoming objections and negotiating offers.
  • Deliver results, taking ownership of your individual targets and contributing to the success of the wider Leasing Team.
  • Create opportunities, proactively reaching out to prospective residents and existing leads rather than waiting for the phone to ring.
  • Become a Vertus expert, knowing our apartments, buildings and resident experience inside out.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party agents and other partners to maximise leasing opportunities.
  • Get involved, representing Vertus at Open Houses, pop-ups, events and marketing activations.
  • Listen to customer feedback and use it to identify opportunities to improve the leasing experience and increase conversion.
  • Work closely with Tenancy Progression and the wider Vertus team to deliver a seamless journey from application to move-in.
  • Keep your pipeline organised and accurate using HubSpot.
  • Make sure we get the important things right, including affordability, eligibility, Right to Rent, AML, GDPR and relevant lettings requirements.
  • Stay curious about the property market, competitors and the latest trends in Build to Rent.

Person Specification

You don't necessarily need to come from property. We're looking for great salespeople and great personalities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Is naturally confident, outgoing and great at building relationships.
  • Knows how to turn a conversation into an opportunity.
  • Isn't afraid to pick up the phone, chase a lead or ask for the sale.

Your Experience

We're open-minded about where you've built your skills.

You might already work in property or Build to Rent, or you could come from sales, recruitment, automotive, hospitality, premium retail, travel or another customer-focused environment.

What's more important is that you can demonstrate a strong sales mindset, fantastic people skills and a track record of delivering results.

Previous lettings or property experience is desirable, but not essential. Knowledge of Right to Rent, AML, GDPR and lettings compliance would also be beneficial.

If you're great with people, hungry to succeed and excited by the idea of selling the Vertus lifestyle, we'd love to hear from you.
