Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term

An opportunity has arisen to join a busy diverse team working directly with and supporting Leicester's care leavers. You will work as part of the Leaving care Team to provide support to young people in care and care leavers, to ensure a positive transition to adulthood and independence. The team's priorities are to ensure that young people are living in suitable accommodation, have opportunities to engage in education, employment, or training, and can contribute positively within their local communities.

There is one permanent, full-time post and one fixed-term for 9 months position working 37 hours per week. You'll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office-based, at Halford House or working remotely from home to suit your needs. You'll be required to take part in Team Duty Cover Rota which takes place from Halford House.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Understand the many challenges faced by the group of young people we work with and be able to develop effective working relationships with them and advocate on their behalf.
  • Carry a caseload of eligible, relevant, and former relevant young people to provide appropriate advice, support, and advocacy to meet assessed needs.
  • Contribute to assessments and preparation of Pathway plans and carry out identified tasks within the child's plan ensuring service provision is appropriate and sensitive to the cultural needs of young people and their families as agreed with Team Manager or allocated social worker.
  • Arrange and coordinate the provision of services to Looked After Children and care leavers to meet assessed needs in partnership with the allocated social worker and young person.
  • Maintain appropriate liaison with young people, Social Workers, and involved agencies in order to monitor progress and well-being, retain focus of work, and agree future involvement of different agencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
