Job Title: Lecturer (Gestalt)
Location: 13 North Common Road, Ealing, London W5 2QB
Team: Academic Team
Salary: £38,628 (FTE)
Contract type: Fixed Term (1 September 2026 to 31 July 2027)
Hours per week: Part-Time up to 14 Hours per week (0.4FTE)
Working pattern: Varies according to the programme delivery, likely to include some weekend working, could include some evening working.
About This Role
Our Lecturers provide academic leadership that ensures high-quality teaching, learning and student success. They lead on curriculum development, assessment, quality assurance and module delivery while supporting staff and students.
Due to continued growth of our student numbers, we are looking for UKCP accredited Gestalt psychotherapists. Ideally, you’ll also have either a teaching qualification such as PG Cert or HE FHEA (or equivalent), or an interest in psychotherapy education and a willingness to work towards gaining a Metanoia sponsored teaching qualification.
We offer flexible working patterns including weekend teaching in person as well as working online remotely. Being a part of our warm, welcoming and supportive team, you’ll play a key role in educating and nurturing our next cohort of emerging gestalt psychotherapists and counsellors, joining us at an exciting time in our development.
About You
You’ll engage in training for pedagogy, research, and leadership, seek mentoring and participate in peer observation, build professional networks inside and outside the Institute, be an active representative of Metanoia Institute on key professional bodies/ committees; external events; conferences and seminars; production of sector or journal articles/ reviews; and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusive learning and practice.

You'll have:
- UKCP accreditation as a gestalt psychotherapist
- Knowledge of current issues and opportunities in the wider world of counselling/psychotherapy and academia and related debates within the professional and academic fields.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work effectively under own initiative
- Teaching qualification in higher education (e.g. PGCertHE / Fellowship of Advance HE) or willingness to obtain one
- Experience designing curriculum, module content, and learning resources.
- Experience setting, marking, moderating and quality assuring assessments.
- Experience supporting diverse student groups, including students with additional learning needs.
- Experience using virtual learning environments such as Moodle and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience within higher education or academic planning would be advantageous but is not essential if you can demonstrate strong transferable analytical and planning skills.
