I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you
You will have strong professional or academic expertise in bespoke tailoring or a closely related area of fashion practice, together with experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, or equivalent experience.
Your teaching and assessment experience may have been gained through a permanent, fractional, hourly paid or visiting academic role, or through another relevant educational or professional setting where you have responsibility for supporting and assessing learners. We welcome applications from both experienced higher education educators and established tailoring or fashion practitioners who can demonstrate relevant teaching and assessment experience.
You will also have a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience and be able to demonstrate a strong record of teaching, professional practice, research, knowledge exchange or other activity that contributes to the development of the subject.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can explore how traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation can work together. Your expertise might be rooted in traditional bespoke tailoring, contemporary fashion, pattern cutting, menswear, womenswear, experimental tailoring or another closely related area.
