Lecturer in Bricklaying (Variable Hours)

Location: Chippenham

Salary:

  • Unqualified: £21.13 per hour plus holiday pay
  • Qualified: £25.34 per hour plus holiday pay

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in bricklaying, masonry, construction, building technology, traditional and modern construction methods, or related areas.

Please note: This is a Variable Hours position, with work offered as required during term time, subject to curriculum delivery and learner requirements.

    Unqualified: £21.13 per hour plus holiday pay
    Qualified: £25.34 per hour plus holiday pay
  • Contract Type: Variable Hours (currently up to 18.5 hours per week)

What You'll Do

  • Teach and assess Bricklaying students
  • Deliver engaging practical and theoretical construction sessions
  • Develop lesson plans and learning materials
  • Support students' progress, achievement, and employability
  • Develop students' practical bricklaying skills, technical knowledge, and understanding of construction methods
  • Demonstrate safe and effective working practices in a practical workshop environment
  • Support students to develop industry-standard skills and prepare for employment
  • Contribute to enrichment, industry engagement, employer activities, and work-related learning
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professional practice, health and safety, and learner support
  • Work collaboratively to provide an outstanding learner experience

What You'll Bring

  • A Level 3 qualification or higher and/or significant industry experience in bricklaying or a related construction subject
  • Strong practical knowledge of bricklaying, masonry, construction methods, and current industry practices
  • Relevant experience working within the construction and/or bricklaying industry
  • A passion for inspiring and supporting learners
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to professional, inclusive, and safe working practices
  • Teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential; experienced bricklayers and construction professionals are encouraged to apply
