Lecturer in Business and Law

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Business and Law to join our T Levels Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who can deliver engaging, high-quality teaching while contributing to the continued development of our curriculum and student experience. You will have the exciting opportunity to take learners to Law and Business events and related organisations.

Please note this role is permanent, part-time working 22 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across T Level Legal Services and T Level Business. There may be some teaching on BTEC Level 3 Applied Law and Business
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate engaging learning materials
  • Contribute to curriculum development and course planning
  • Support students through personal tutoring and effective learner support
  • Use innovative teaching approaches, ILT, and multimedia resources to enhance learning
  • Work collaboratively with course teams to maintain and improve quality
  • Support the development and expansion of learning provision
  • Contribute to learner recruitment, induction, and ongoing support, including open events and interviews
  • Maintain effective academic and administrative records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and student outcomes

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • A degree and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to Business and Law
  • A Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification
  • Experience of excellent teaching and learning practice
  • Experience preparing and evaluating effective learning materials
  • Experience delivering relevant qualifications
  • Knowledge of key skills/functional skills
  • Experience of internal verification/moderation

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

✅ Accepted Qualifications

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).

❌ Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications

  • PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
  • SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
  • Masters in Education
  • TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
