An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands College for a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across our Engineering programmes from Level 2 to Level 5. You’ll be joining Oaklands at an exciting time of growth and transformation, helping learners develop the technical skills, confidence, and industry knowledge needed to thrive in the modern engineering sector. As we continue our journey of innovation and excellence, we are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering to play a key role in shaping future engineering talent.
Your Day to Day Impact
As a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, you will:
- Inspire and support learners across a range of Engineering programmes, helping them develop both the theoretical understanding and practical skills required for successful careers in industry.
- Deliver and assess specialist units covering Electrical and Electronic Principles, PLCs, Microcontrollers, Process Control, Electronic Measurement and Testing, and Industrial Electrical Systems.
- Create a positive learning environment through engaging and inclusive teaching.
- Plan and develop high-quality schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources.
- Monitor learner progress closely, provide meaningful feedback, set challenging but achievable targets, and offer effective personal tutoring support.
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing enhancement of the learner experience.
- Ensure compliance with college policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.

Is This You?
- Qualifications & Experience: A degree, apprenticeship, or substantial industrial experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Principles, PLCs, Microcontrollers, Electronic Measurement and Testing, and Industrial Control Systems.
- Teaching & Assessment: Experience of teaching or assessing within Further or Higher Education, or a willingness to train and develop in this area.
- Professional Development: A recognised teaching qualification, or a commitment to achieving one.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Learner Focus: Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every learner achieve their potential.
