Share Your Electrical Installation Expertise with the Next Generation
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Installation professional with a strong understanding of the industry and a passion for developing learners. Ideally, you will already have experience of teaching or training, but we would also welcome applications from experienced industry professionals who are looking to move into teaching and can demonstrate the ability to engage and inspire young people.
You will bring your practical knowledge and industry experience into the classroom, helping learners develop the technical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours they need to progress into further study, apprenticeships and employment.

The Role
Working within the Engineering and Built Environment team, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes, helping learners develop the skills and knowledge needed for the industry.
You will:
- Teach Electrical Installation across Levels 1–3, with the potential to contribute to T Level provision.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and practical learning activities that connect theory with industry practice.
- Use your industry knowledge to make the curriculum relevant to current workplace expectations and career opportunities.
- Assess learners’ work, provide constructive feedback and monitor their progress and achievement.
- Prepare and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources and assessment materials.
- Support learners with different needs and abilities, helping them build confidence and make progress.
- Work with colleagues to embed Maths and English within the vocational curriculum.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Electrical Installation and developments within the industry.
- Develop industry links and maintain professional practice within your specialist area.
- Contribute to quality assurance, internal verification, standardisation and course reviews.
- Support student recruitment activities, open evenings and other College events.
- Contribute to the development of Electrical Installation provision and new curriculum initiatives.

Why This Role Matters?
You will have a strong background in Electrical Installation, supported by relevant qualifications and/or industry experience, together with up-to-date knowledge of the subject.
Ideally, you will have experience of teaching Electrical Installation and a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DIT. However, we will also consider experienced industry professionals who have the knowledge, communication skills and enthusiasm to make the transition into teaching. The College can support the right candidate to work towards a teaching qualification.
Salary: £27,980 - £44,835 per annum
Recruitment Allowance: For the right candidate, a recruitment allowance may be available reflecting relevant skills and experience.
