Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and industry-focused Hairdressing Lecturer to join our team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hairdressing professional who is passionate about education and committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across our Hairdressing programmes, combining your industry knowledge with effective teaching practice.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based sessions, assessing students' work, providing constructive feedback and supporting learners throughout their studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Hairdressing teaching and learning sessions.
- Deliver practical and theoretical aspects of Hairdressing programmes.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on students' work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Support students to develop their technical, professional and employability skills.
- Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement, taking appropriate action where required.
- Maintain accurate records relating to assessment, progress and student performance.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that teaching and practical activities are delivered in a safe and professional environment.
- Maintain strong links with current industry practice and promote professional standards within the learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an outstanding student experience.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant industry experience and expertise within Hairdressing.
- Holds an appropriate Hairdressing qualification.
- Has, or is willing to work towards, an appropriate teaching qualification.
- Has a genuine passion for developing and inspiring students.
- Can demonstrate strong practical and technical Hairdressing skills.
- Is able to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences to students with a range of abilities.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Is committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Is enthusiastic about sharing current industry knowledge and developing students' skills for employment or further study.
