Description

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Hairdressing professional to join our team as a part-time lecturer, delivering engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences to the next generation of hairdressing professionals.

Working within our industry-standard commercial salon facilities, you will play a key role in developing learners’ practical skills, technical knowledge and professional behaviours across a range of hairdressing techniques. You will use creative and innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment, incorporating digital technologies and current industry trends to ensure learners are well prepared for employment and progression within the sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and supportive department that values collaboration, professional development and strong links with the hairdressing industry. You will have the opportunity to mentor and inspire learners, contribute to industry workshops, masterclasses and competitions, and support the effective operation of our commercial salons.

Through high-quality teaching and a strong focus on professional standards, customer service and commercial awareness, you will help learners develop the confidence, creativity and technical expertise required to progress successfully into employment, apprenticeships or further study within the hairdressing industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake the teaching, assessment and coordination of programmes of study leading to VTCT qualifications in Hairdressing from Level 1 to Level 3, both within the College and, where required, in local partner schools
  • Work collaboratively with managers and salon reception staff to ensure the effective operation of the College’s commercial salons, providing appropriate opportunities for learners to undertake practical assessments and develop authentic industry experience. Contribute to the development of a vibrant and financially sustainable client base through effective target setting, promotion, retail activity and learner sales incentives
  • Work collaboratively with Hair and Beauty colleagues, managers, employers and industry stakeholders to develop a varied programme of industry-related workshops, demonstrations and masterclasses, ensuring learners have regular opportunities to engage with professionals and current industry practice
  • Demonstrate innovation in the planning, delivery and assessment of both practical and theoretical aspects of the curriculum, making effective use of digital technologies and emerging approaches within Hairdressing and salon practice
  • Identify, prepare and mentor learners to participate in regional, national and international competitions, accompanying and supporting learners where required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
