Salary on appointment will be £38,784 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £47,389 per annum (pro rata).
The School of Health Sciences is committed to developing new opportunities for midwifery, nursing and allied health professional colleagues to develop their careers within the University sector.
At an exciting time of growth and development, we are seeking to appoint to two fixed term Lecturer in Midwifery posts.
Both posts will provide a supportive context for development and the opportunity to strengthen experience and knowledge of learning and teaching, innovation and research.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and student support within the school’s midwifery programme.
- Design and deliver lectures and seminars.
- Support student learning through assessment, practice education visiting, and academic supervision.
Requirements:
- Hold a current NMC registration as a midwife.
- Have a first degree in midwifery (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
- Ideally, have experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment relevant to the subject.
- Have a commitment to academic and professional development.

Position Details:
- Two posts are available immediately.
- The first is part-time (0.6 FTE), on a fixed-term basis of 4 years.
- The second is part-time (0.8 FTE) for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

These posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child and Vulnerable Adult Barred Lists. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or vulnerable adults.
