Registered Social Work Lecturer
There is a new opportunity to join our established team of Social Workers at Southampton Solent University.
We are looking for a Registered Social Worker to join our academic team to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to our students and apprentices who are studying social work at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The role involves developing and delivering lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical learning activities, while supporting students in developing the knowledge, skills, and professional values required for social work practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and updating teaching materials
- Assessing, marking, and providing feedforward on student work
- Supporting student development and progression
- Contributing to curriculum development
- Maintaining current knowledge of social work practice, legislation, policy, and professional standards
- Contributing to current research, professional practice, academic administration, placement education, and partnerships with social care organisations

Ideal Candidate
- A recognised qualification in Social Work
- Relevant professional social work experience
- Strong communication and teaching skills preferably with an established academic background
- A commitment to inclusive and student-centred education
- Experience of supporting learners in higher education
- A passion for developing future social work professionals
