Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in our Entrepreneurship, Strategy and International Business subject group, committed to creating an exciting and inclusive academic environment. You will be:
- Committed to developing your research profile through high-quality publications, applying for research funding and working with communities and partners to deliver impact
- An engaging teacher, playing a key role in devising, designing, preparing and delivering innovative teaching programmes in relevant specialist areas.
We would like to hear from you if you have a keen interest in teaching strategic management, and are working in the area of Business Strategy, Managing AI in Organisations, Strategic Management, or International Management. Main Duties And Responsibilities
Research
- Conduct innovative research leading to research publications of the highest quality.
- Identify appropriate sources of funding and prepare research proposals for funding bodies.
- Contribute to knowledge exchange and impact as appropriate to the research work undertaken.
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver general and specialist courses to the highest standards of teaching excellence, in teams and on your own.
- Carry out assessment for courses, including designing assessment instruments and criteria, marking assessments, ensuring adequate moderation, and providing written/oral feedback.
- Carry out course evaluation, which will include facilitating student feedback, reflecting on your own teaching design and delivery, and implementing ideas for improving your performance.
Leadership
- Participate in and, as appropriate, have a role as a member of committees.
- Carry out leadership roles as required.
External Engagement and academic service
- Pursue involvement in professional activities such as refereeing papers, editing journals, refereeing research grants, external examining, organising conferences, committee membership and involvement with professional bodies.
- Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post

Criteria
Essential
- A PhD in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable expertise in teaching strategic management, international business and / or business strategy
- Publications in high quality, internationally excellent outlets (including peer reviewed journal articles, conference presentations etc.)
- Experience of delivering excellent, innovative courses involving methods, and a reflective and student-focused approach, individually and / or as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to provide pastoral support to students
- Commitment to continuing professional development
Desirable
- A track record of and clear plans for applying for research funding
- Ability to deliver or develop research impact through activities that demonstrate an effect beyond academia, for example via public engagement activities, consultancy etc.
- Ability to take on leadership roles in the Department appropriate to career stage and to motivate high performance in others
- Evidence of or ability to engage in external professional activities such as refereeing papers, editing journals, refereeing research grants, working with accreditation bodies
