Here at Merton College, we are seeking a Lecturer to provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities.

About the Role
You’ll act as a Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme and take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation. You’ll take part in curriculum planning and product development as required and deliver and imbed Math’s and English to SEND to deliver the College’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold a teaching qualification, a degree or equivalent (and relevant) professional qualification in an appropriate subject.
- Experience of working with and understanding the needs of SEND.
- Work as part of a team, aware of the current curriculum changes and the implications for SEND learning strategies and reforms.
- Knowledge and understanding of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education and the implications that this has for delivery and promotion of learning.
- Experience of curriculum development to meet the changing demands of the Further Education Sector, with evidence of providing effective student support.
- Manage students with challenging behaviour and demonstrate the ability to teach and communicate at a level appropriate to the students and in a way that recognises their different learning abilities.
- Knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post 16 sector, including RARPA.
- Understand the application of information technology and assistive technology to teaching and learning strategies.
- Experience working with external agencies and assessment and/or IV practices for a range of specialist accreditation.
