Lecturer in Maths & ESOL - 1 Month Contract (Rolling)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Maths & ESOL to join our client's growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can deliver engaging Maths lessons while supporting ESOL learners to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in education, employment, and everyday life.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting learner achievement, and creating an inclusive learning environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive. You will work with learners across a range of levels, helping them develop both their mathematical understanding and English language skills.

Please note, this role will be on a 5 day working model (Monday-Friday), working 23 hours per week. The position will be on a rolling 1 month contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Maths and Functional Skills lessons.
  • Support and teach ESOL learners, adapting teaching methods to meet individual language needs.
  • Prepare high-quality learning materials, schemes of work, and assessments.
  • Track learner progress, set targets, and provide effective academic support.
  • Utilise digital learning technologies and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise learner achievement, retention, and progression.
  • Maintain accurate academic and administrative records.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience teaching Maths and/or Functional Skills across a range of levels.
  • Experience supporting or teaching ESOL learners.
  • The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse student groups.
  • Experience developing and evaluating learning materials.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and administration skills.
  • The ability to motivate, engage, and inspire learners from a variety of backgrounds.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification or above in Maths, English, ESOL, Education, or a related subject.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, applicants will have a 50/50 split of Maths and ESOL Experience, with confidence teaching Maths while understanding the challenges faced by learners developing their English language skills. We welcome applications from:

  • Maths Lecturers with significant ESOL Experience.
  • ESOL Lecturers with strong Maths or Functional Skills delivery Experience.
  • Functional Skills teachers who have taught both areas.
