Electrical Lecturer/Assessor - Apprenticeships

Role Information

Reference: REQ001510

Location: Stroud Campus

FTE Salary: Up to £34,044 per annum, plus up to £5,000 annual market supplement. (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a caseload of electrical apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey.
  • Conduct learner screening, interviews, induction, enrolment and individual learning planning.
  • Deliver and assess workplace learning, providing coaching, training, feedback and progress support.
  • Monitor and record learner progress, achievement and off-the-job training requirements to ensure compliance with funding and audit standards.
  • Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment (AM2S) and support successful programme completion.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with employers, ensuring regular communication, progress reviews and learner support.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching, learning support and functional skills teams to provide a holistic apprenticeship experience.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and performance data using Smart Assessor and other college systems.
  • Promote learner wellbeing, equality, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding, health and safety, and access to additional support where required.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, continuous improvement activities, staff development and the ongoing success and growth of apprenticeship provision.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant industry qualifications in Electrotechnical Installations, with up-to-date sector knowledge and experience
  • Experience of delivering or assessing apprenticeships, with a strong understanding of quality assurance processes
  • Ability to support team development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to track learner progress and maintain accurate records
  • A recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification (e.g. PGCE, AET, CAVA, TAQA) or willingness to work towards
  • Passion for developing apprentices and supporting high-quality training aligned to industry standards
