About The School Of Psychology
The School of Psychology is an ambitious School with a strong reputation for teaching, research, and real-world impact. Our broad portfolio offers scope to teach across different levels and subject areas. The school was ranked 37th nationally for research power in REF 2021 and has since produced more than 800 publications, attracted over 6,000 citations, and secured substantial funding from Wellcome, NIHR, the British Academy, NHS Trusts, and charities.
In September 2027, the School will move to the newly refurbished Kitty Wilkinson Building. Its purpose-designed research laboratories and high-quality teaching and learning spaces will provide an outstanding environment for our staff and students.
What we’re looking for
We are now seeking to appoint three full-time Lecturers in Psychology to contribute to our BPS-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities and will contribute to the planning, design, and development of modules and programmes and curriculum changes. You will play a key role in establishing an independent research portfolio within the parameters of the school/department research portfolio, and engage in relevant research, professional, and knowledge exchange activities as well as having input into administrative duties as required.

We welcome applications from candidates with a PhD in Psychology (or equivalent qualification) and experience of teaching across the core areas of psychology, with specific opportunities for those with expertise in mental health and applied psychology. You will also have the ability to contribute to the core curriculum and take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of teaching programmes and modules.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview at the School of Psychology. The selection process will include a 10-minute presentation to undergraduate students and staff, followed by a tour of the School.
