About the Role

Entails the design and delivery of high quality inclusive theoretical and practical teaching, to meet learning outcomes for modules on the BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Training (Clinical) programmes and wider related topics

  • Provide student focussed academic personal tutoring, supported by on-campus specialist centres, including the Achievement and Success Centre and the Employability, Skills and Careers Team, to develop industry ready graduates
  • Planning, designing and delivery of student assessments followed by marking and moderation of student work in line with Hartpury University’s quality assurance processes
  • Requires impactful engagement with research or equivalent scholarly activity to support excellence in teaching and learning and the student experience

About You

  • You will be a dynamic, professional and experienced Animal Training Instructor or Clinical Animal Behaviourist, with extensive and current knowledge of the animal training and behaviour industry
  • You may hold professional standing with bodies such as the Animal Behaviour Training Council
  • Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to complete a teaching development programme
  • Highly motivated, self-reliant and enthusiastic and passionate about delivering the highest quality of teaching, learning and student experience to our animal behaviour and training students
  • A record of good interpersonal, communication and team working skills, also the ability to manage your own time
  • Have post qualification/industry experience within the subject field, with research practice being advantageous
  • Evidence of engagement with research and scholarly activity and a willingness to further develop and contribute to this area as a university academic
