Job Description

We are investing in our academic provision and are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Real Estate to join our team of experienced academic staff. We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic academic to make a key contribution to our academic provision through teaching, research and enterprise.

We welcome applications from both academics and experienced real estate practitioners with a degree in a real estate related subject. In particular, we are keen to hear from candidates with general practice experience across a range of areas, including valuation, agency, property/asset management, investment and consultancy and would particularly encourage applications from experienced Chartered Surveyors and real estate professionals. Corporate membership or eligibility for corporate membership of a relevant professional body would be essential.

We value both academic and professional experience and welcome applications from industry practitioners interested in pursuing a career in higher education. Applicants from industry should possess substantial expertise in real estate practice, ideally with experience spanning several areas of general practice, including valuation. Experience in higher education is desirable but not essential, and applications from industry professionals are strongly encouraged.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
