Merrifield Consultants are delighted to partner with an international, Christian humanitarian and development charity to recruit a Legacy Relationship Executive.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in growing legacy programme, building meaningful relationships with supporters and inspiring them to consider the lasting impact a gift in their Will can have on vulnerable children and communities around the world.

Key details:

  • Salary: 30,874
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Milton Keynes, Hybrid
  • Working pattern: 36.5 hours per week, with at least one evening per week until 8pm and one Saturday per month. Some UK travel will also be required to support legacy events and occasionally speak at churches.

About the role:

As a Legacy Relationship Executive, you will manage and develop a portfolio of supporters, guiding them through the legacy journey from initial enquiry through to confirmed pledge.

You’ll be confident engaging supporters by phone, at events and occasionally in churches, using active listening, storytelling and persuasive communication to inspire action and deliver measurable fundraising results. This is a highly target-focused role for someone who combines commercial drive with genuine compassion.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of supporters, building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Make proactive calls to existing supporters about Gift, Act and Pray opportunities and the benefits of leaving a gift in their Will.
  • Apply moves management to progress supporters from enquirer to pledger, following up legacy mailings and events with personalised calls.
  • Share compelling impact stories showing how a future gift can transform lives.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce supporters to other World Vision work, referring them to Major Donor, Church Engagement and Mid-Level Giving colleagues, and support legacy events face to face.
  • Keep accurate CRM records, capture supporter insight, and report on KPIs daily and monthly.

About You

You’ll be a confident, compassionate and target-driven relationship builder who enjoys engaging people through meaningful conversations and is motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting difference.

You will bring:

  • Experience in telesales, fundraising, account management, supporter engagement or relationship management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and inspire people from diverse backgrounds.
  • High emotional intelligence, with excellent listening and questioning skills.
  • A proven track record of working in a target-driven environment and consistently achieving or exceeding goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories and influence conversations towards a positive outcome.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent administration skills and experience of working with a CRM database.
