Legal Secretary – Managing Partner
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced Legal Secretary or Administrator to provide dedicated support to a Managing Partner within an established law firm in Poole.
This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of legal work, with the Managing Partner primarily specialising in Commercial Litigation alongside wider responsibilities within the firm.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident working independently, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide reliable secretarial and administrative support in a busy professional environment.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Audio and copy typing of correspondence, legal documents and reports
- Preparing probate applications and associated documentation
- Opening and closing client files in line with firm procedures
- Managing diaries, arranging appointments and scheduling meetings
- Handling telephone enquiries and liaising with clients, beneficiaries and third parties
- Preparing bills and assisting with the administration of client matters
- Maintaining accurate client and matter records
- Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and in line with relevant procedures
- Managing incoming and outgoing post and emails
- Providing general administrative and secretarial support to the Managing Partner

About you
We are looking for someone with previous experience within a legal secretarial or professional administration environment who can work confidently with minimal supervision.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or experienced Administrator
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good audio and copy typing skills
- Experience handling confidential information and documentation
- The ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities
- A proactive approach and the confidence to use your own initiative
- Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
- A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients and third parties
