Job Opportunity at Saragossa
Saragossa has recently taken investment and is entering a significant period of expansion, with plans to double its contracts over the next 24 months.
We're now looking for a Legal & Compliance Lead to take ownership of our contracts and contractor onboarding process across the UK and USA, helping ensure the business can scale effectively while maintaining the right level of commercial and legal rigour.
This is a hands-on, commercially minded opportunity for someone who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, growing environment. You'll manage the contracting process, navigate nuanced cases as they arise, advise on US classification rules and contracts, and work closely with stakeholders across the business.
You'll also manage two team members across the UK and USA, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact both operationally and strategically.
Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of the contracting and contractor onboarding process across the UK and USA.
- Managing contracts from an operational and commercial perspective, ensuring processes can support the company's continued growth.
- Handling complex and nuanced contractual cases as they arise.
- Advising on US contractor classification rules and contracts.
- Managing and supporting two team members across the UK and USA.
- Driving projects relating to contracts, compliance and contractor operations.
- Balancing a high volume of work with strong attention to detail and sound judgement.
- Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders while taking ownership of your area.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Unlike a traditional, highly structured legal role, this is an opportunity for someone who is commercial, pragmatic and comfortable working at pace.
Requirements
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience within the recruitment industry, or someone who has worked in a similarly fast-moving, operational environment. A highly structured legal background alone is less likely to translate well into the role.
