Legal Assistant – Residential Conveyancing

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Legal Assistant to join our busy Residential Conveyancing team based at our Histon office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in residential property who is looking to develop their legal career within a supportive and professional team. You will work closely with solicitors and fee earners, providing administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting fee earners with a range of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion
- Preparing and organising legal documentation and correspondence
- Opening and maintaining client files
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties
- Carrying out property searches and assisting with enquiries
- Assisting with exchange and completion processes
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records
- Providing general administrative and organisational support to the residential conveyancing team
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within relevant deadlines

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in or has a strong interest in residential conveyancing
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with clients and professional contacts
- Able to manage their workload effectively and work to deadlines
- A strong team player with a professional and positive approach
- Comfortable using IT and case management systems
- Keen to develop their knowledge and career within residential property

Previous experience working within a conveyancing department is desirable, although we would also consider candidates with relevant legal administrative experience and a genuine interest in residential property.
