Legal Assistant - Property Finance and Specialist Lending

Are you a proactive and highly organised Legal Assistant looking to build your experience in property finance and specialist lending? This is an excellent opportunity to join our busy Property Finance and Specialist Lending team within our Residential Property department, supporting fee earners on a wide range of fast-moving transactions in a collaborative, professional environment. The role would suit someone who enjoys keeping matters organised, managing competing priorities and delivering accurate work to tight deadlines.

As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners with property finance matters, including bridging finance and specialist lending transactions. You will be involved in both the legal and administrative aspects of cases, helping transactions progress efficiently from instruction through to completion while maintaining accurate records and a high standard of client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting fee earners with property finance transactions, including preparing legal documentation and supporting key administrative tasks
  • Supporting matters relating to bridging finance and specialist lending (experience desirable)
  • Managing files and ensuring case management systems are consistently up to date
  • Liaising confidently and professionally with clients, lenders, brokers and other solicitors
  • Handling incoming correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries
  • Assisting with completions and post-completion matters
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Providing general administrative support to the team and wider department as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or in a similar legal support role, ideally within property finance, real estate or banking and finance
  • Experience with bridging finance or specialist lending transactions would be highly desirable
  • Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Ability to take direction and respond quickly to instructions
  • Confident and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • A proactive, flexible, and “can-do” approach
  • Law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualification would be desirable
