This is an opportunity to join CMS as a Legal Assistant based in our Glasgow office with our Immigration Team. The role supports a Partner and wider team through a mix of client service management, administrative support and, for the right candidate, broader paralegal type work. You will play an important part in helping the team deliver accurate, well organised and timely work for clients.

About The Role

  • Review, check and collate documents, ensuring accuracy and a consistent standard of presentation
  • Take responsibility for matter management tasks, including creating and maintaining internal trackers
  • Support ad hoc data analysis using information provided by clients
  • Assist with client service activities such as reporting, knowledge management and billing trackers
  • Help coordinate international and multi jurisdiction advice
  • Prepare migrant and sponsor licence packs
  • Assisting fee earners with preparation of visa and immigration applications, including drafting application forms
  • Provide office administration and diary management support, working closely with the Partner

About You

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to help others stay organised
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with a careful and thorough approach to your work
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with Google Workspace is helpful but not essential, as training can be provided
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • A professional approach to building working relationships with colleagues and clients

A degree in a law or management related subject, or previous paralegal experience, in immigration law, would be an advantage but is not essential.
