Legal Assistant - Corporate Team
Salary up to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience
Full-time, permanent role
Hybrid working available
We're working with a leading law firm to recruit a Legal Assistant to join their Corporate team in Bristol. This is a varied support role working closely with fee earners and providing a combination of legal administration, client contact, document production and wider team support.
The role would suit an experienced Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or PA who enjoys working in a professional environment and wants to support a busy Corporate team. You'll have regular contact with solicitors, clients and third parties, as well as involvement in file management, compliance, billing, CRM administration and business development activity.
Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day administrative and legal support to fee earners
- Opening and maintaining client files, including filing, archiving and document management
- Producing and formatting legal documents, correspondence and bills using appropriate precedents and templates
- Managing telephone calls, emails, post and online portals
- Assisting with basic legal processes, including obtaining documentation, arranging meetings, completing forms and processing funds
- Liaising with clients, agents, referrers, experts and other solicitors by telephone, email and in person
- Supporting fee earners with client and third-party enquiries
- Assisting with file opening, AML checks and other risk and compliance requirements
- Supporting file audits and ensuring information is maintained accurately
- Providing administrative support for business development and marketing activities, including meetings, events and presentation materials
- Maintaining accurate client and contact information on the firm's CRM system
- Coordinating team meetings, training and other activities
- Making effective use of the firm's IT systems and identifying opportunities to improve processes
- Taking ownership of smaller projects and administrative improvements where appropriate
- Providing general support to the Corporate team as required

What we need from you
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, PA or similar legal support professional
- Previous experience within a professional services environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using other IT systems
- Comfortable dealing with clients, fee earners and external contacts
- Good attention to detail and a professional approach to confidential information
- An understanding of client service and relationship management
- Able to work collaboratively within a busy team
- A proactive approach to improving processes and ways of working
- Previous experience within a law firm would be expected
