Legal Assistant - Private Client Department
A law firm is seeking a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join its Private Client team in Dorking.

The role plays a key part in supporting the smooth running of the department by providing high-quality administrative and secretarial assistance, working closely with fee earners and wider support teams.
The Role
You will provide administrative and organisational support to the Private Client department, including:
- Preparation of accurate correspondence and documents through audio and copy typing
- Handling client communications via telephone, email and in person in a professional and friendly manner
- Photocopying and post distribution in liaison with the Business Support Team
- Diary management and coordination of appointments
- File opening and closure in line with Law Society and SRA requirements
- Preparation of meeting rooms and refreshments as required
- Supporting and guiding other Department Assistants within Private Client and across the firm
- Undertaking training and supporting ongoing self-development
- Maintaining confidentiality of all client and firm information
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the Partners

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Department Assistant within a law firm
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines under pressure
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team
